La Marzocco has been building espresso machines in Florence since 1927, and the same family still owns the company. That continuity shows up in the product. The Linea launched in 1968 and quickly became the default machine in serious coffee bars worldwide. The saturated-group, dual-boiler architecture La Marzocco pioneered is what every other commercial brand benchmarks against now. They were also the first sponsor of the World Barista Championship, which is part of why so many baristas you see competing today grew up behind one.
Walk into a good coffee shop in any major US city and odds are the machine on the counter is theirs. The Linea PB — designed by Piero Bambi himself — is the daily driver. Shops push 200+ drink mornings through one and the boilers don't blink. The Linea Classic S is the same DNA in a simpler, less-electronic package, and it's still the favorite of plenty of single-location specialty cafés. The KB90 is the one to look at if you've got high count in a tight footprint; the swing-out portafilters genuinely cut wrist fatigue on a busy bar. The Strada gives you full pressure profiling for a single-origin program. The GB5 S is the multi-group volume option. The Leva is mechanical, no electronics in the brew path, for cafés that want the slower tactile workflow at the bar.
